2015 Atterbury Tactical
Atterbury 2015 was wet. Everyone knew it would be. So some stayed home. Nice and dry. Probably did some laundry and watched golf. But some came out to the event and enjoyed a great day of fighting! The 14th was there with two M5A1s, a WC21 and a CCKW. This gave the Germans a bit more than they could handle in a head to head battle. So we had many battles! Huge thanks to all who showed up. |
2015 kentucky railway museum 40's weekend
What makes a WW2 truck look tiny? How about a locomotive?! This one is in the museums "back lot". Some of the coolest stuff at the Kentucky Railway Museum is located out back. Certainly worth checking out.
Saturday we named the base "Camp Swampy". It rained just about all day. This did keep attendance down, don't people buy umbrellas anymore? The gentleman on the left had Stuart tanks in Korea, and some good stories. He didn't let some rain keep him down! Meeting guys like this really makes doing an event worthwhile.
Sunday the sun came out and everything dried out! Good day to see some WWII hardware!
Veterans memorial
The 14th Celebrated Memorial Day at the Veterans Tribute Historical World War II Reenactment Battle in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. This first year event was great! Lots of re-enactors, good crowds, and excellent weather. As an added bonus several WWII veterans were out to see the show. Like many events this one had an encampment for each side and some vendors. We had three public battles spaced throughout the day. This one also had multiple food tents and live music. Lets hope this becomes a perennial event.

Bullitt blast
july 4th reenactment
As night fell tank crews prepared to fire a salvo to start the fireworks. Be sure to see the video!
WW2 returns to Shepherdsville! The 14th brought out a wide spread of vintage military equipment to put on a display for the July 4th crowd. That crowd was in for a treat when a German Panzer III showed up to assist the ground troops. After two spirited battles three of the Stuarts fired off some main gun rounds to kick off the fireworks. |

Thunder over michigan
Thunder over Michigan 2015 was year of the half track. With the massive amount of tracks that showed up there no tanks were required (more on that later). Indeed 19 half tracks showed up along with some jeeps, WCs, towed guns, and a Harley. The 14th was utilized not just for the WC21 that attended, but to assist in managing the allied side of the battle. Years of running groups of tanks proved to be quite valuable. All four battles went fine! Big thanks to all the vehicle owners and drivers for being safe out there. As the battle script went, the allies lost the the afternoon battle. I guess that a few M5 Stuarts would have come in handy after all...
